Job Summary 

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Lead Operator / Floor Manager to oversee daily operations at Precision Additive’s advanced manufacturing facility. This individual will manage the shop floor, production workflows, and quality control processes, ensuring that additive manufacturing and CNC machining operations run efficiently, safely, and on schedule. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, and experience in aerospace or defense-related industries

Responsibilities 

Production Oversight: 

  • Manage and supervise daily floor operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules. 
  • Oversee 3D printing, CNC machining, and post-processing operations, ensuring quality and efficiency. 
  • Coordinate with engineering and supply chain teams to optimize material usage and production timelines. 

Team Leadership & Development: 

  • Lead and train machine operators, technicians, and production staff to maximize performance. 
  • Enforce safety standards, operational best practices, and quality control measures
  • Provide real-time problem-solving and troubleshooting support to floor staff. 

Quality & Process Control: 

  • Ensure that parts and products meet AS9100, ITAR, and aerospace industry standards
  • Work with quality assurance teams to implement and maintain process controls and inspections
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency. 

Equipment & Facility Management: 

  • Oversee machine maintenance schedules and repair processes to prevent downtime. 
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials, consumables, and tools
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new machinery and technology into production. 
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures for various types of inspection equipment such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc. 

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment, preferably in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing
  • Experience with additive manufacturing, CNC machining, or precision metalworking is a plus. 
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, workflow optimization, and quality assurance standards
  • Ability to lead, train, and develop high-performing teams in a manufacturing setting. 
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and safety compliance regulations
  • Certified calibration technician or equivalent experience. 
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must be a U.S. person (due to ITAR and defense contract requirements).
