Precision Additive is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to support the production of advanced additive manufacturing and CNC-machined components. Reporting to the Lead Operator / Floor Manager, this role is responsible for operating 3D printers, CNC machines, and post-processing equipment to ensure high-quality, precision-manufactured parts. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, machining, or additive manufacturing and be eager to learn and grow within a high-tech production environment.
Responsibilities
Production Operations:
- Operate 3D printers, CNC machines, and finishing equipment according to production schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor print builds, machining operations, and post-processing workflows to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in preparing materials, setting up machines, and loading/unloading parts.
Quality & Inspection:
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of finished parts to ensure they meet AS9100 and aerospace industry standards.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools to verify tolerances.
- Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or process deviations to the Lead Operator.
Machine Maintenance & Safety:
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of machines to prevent downtime.
- Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling materials and operating machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Process Optimization & Team Support:
- Assist in process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Work closely with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot issues and optimize production.
- Document production activities, machine logs, and quality checks.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, machining, or industrial production environment.
- Experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, or precision metalworking is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) for quality control.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitude.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-tech production environment.
- Must be a U.S. person (due to ITAR and defense contract requirements).
